RESERVES AND CONTINGENT RESOURCES – EGYPT
KE holds interests in three Egyptian Concession Agreements for areas located in the
Western Desert (Alamein Basin): BEA (including the Marina Block), Abu Sennan and
ERQ (Figure 1.1). Despite being referred to as Concession Agreements, these
agreements are contractually structured as PSCs. Additionally, KE holds an interest in
Area A of the Eastern Desert (onshore Gulf of Suez Basin), which is covered by a Service
Contract. KE is the Operator of Area A through its subsidiary company Kuwait Energy
Egypt (KEE); KEE is also the Contractor Group’s representative in the JVs with EGPC
that operate BEA and Abu Sennan.
